REALTOR® Resources
...A message from Association President,
Tom Ettz -
FEBRUARY 20, 2004
Good progress is being made on our Associations' three major 2004 initiatives:
- In early February, the third meeting of the CAR Rookie REALTOR® Society was attended by more than 40 people. An excellent presentation was made on Land Development by Kathy Schardt.
- I'm happy to report that Karen Holck has been contracted by the Maryland Association of REALTORS® to work with our Board of Directors and Government Affairs Committee as part of the MAR GAD program. We look forward to Karen's expertise in helping us keep apprised of and proactively involved in local legislative issues affecting our industry.
- The CAR Habitat For Humanity house at 216 Branch Street in Berlin is really taking shape. Pat Terrill recently organized a REALTORS® Women's Build at the house to install insulation. Thanks go to Pat and these volunteers: Debbie Hileman, Janie Hill, Teddi Marshall, Josh Morimoto, Rosemary Orner (and her husband), Jamie Rice, Laurie Walsh and Linda Westerside!

Congratulations to all 2003 Awards of Excellence recipients. Awards were earned by 178 REALTORS® and presented to those attending a special recognition breakfast at the Clarion Resort and Conference Center in February. A list of all award winners has been placed on the Association web site.

Did you know that Cindy Canigiani, CAR Office Administrator, recently celebrated her 14th year anniversary with our Association? She started at 50th Street in Ocean City when the local Association was called the Greater Ocean City Association of REALTORS® (GOCAR). Next time you talk to her, please say congratulations and thanks to Cindy for many years of faithful service to our Association and ask her to keep up the good work!

From time to time Board members have received questions from members of the Association asking about the financial status of CAR. First, I am pleased to report that our Association is in very good financial health. Further, I am happy to announce that Financial Summary information is now available in the Members Only section of the Association web site. This information will be updated quarterly.

If you haven't yet done so, please remember to make your 2004 contribution to RPAC. The Coastal Association goal for 2004 is $15,630. We are currently at 75% of goal and need your help to meet and hopefully exceed our goal. Thanks to all of you that have already made a 2004 contribution.

Best Wishes to all of you for a successful buying/selling season and a great 2004!
